How do I create a TALi profile for my child?
Once you’ve created a TALi account by adding your details, follow the prompts to add a new profile for your child and to purchase their assessment. Following this step, your child will be ready to get started!
Can I create additional profiles for my other children?
Yes you absolutely can! You can add up to 10 children.
What does the TALi app cost?
The TALi app can be downloaded for FREE from the Google Play Store for a limited time only.
What will the TALi app tell me about my child?
The TALi app is a clinically tested, game-based app for assessing your child’s attention skills. Once your child completes the 20-minute assessment, you will receive a personalised report that will help you to understand how your child’s attention skills are developing relative to other children of the same age and gender. It will also highlight areas of attention that may benefit from additional support.
How long will it take my child to complete the TALi app?
The TALi app involves six games that will take your child approximately 20 minutes to complete. Please allow additional time to download and set up the app, and to check that all tasks are complete once your child has finished. This last step will help to ensure that you receive an accurate assessment.
Can my child take breaks in between the app games?
The TALi app is designed to be fun and engaging for your child. Each game is short and unique from the others to help minimise fatigue. Ideally, all six games should be completed without taking a break. However, if your child does need to stop, the best time to do so is in between games (rather than in the middle of a game).
How can I help my child to focus on the TALi app?
Choose a room that is quiet and free from distractions, and set your child up in a comfortable chair.
Place the device close to your child’s dominant hand and check that they don’t have to hold or reach for the device.
Have your child wear headphones and turn up the volume to a comfortable level.
Close all other apps, disable notifications and switch your device to ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode.
Remind your child to only use one hand to respond to the games.
Allow 20 minutes to complete the TALi app without interruptions.
Can I help my child if they have difficulties with the instructions?
Each assessment game starts with a practice trial that is repeated until your child has learnt how to play and can respond correctly. If your child gets stuck on the practice trial, you can help by explaining the instructions. However, try not to provide assistance once your child has progressed to the assessment task.
What baseline skills are needed to complete the TALi app?
Motor skills to navigate the device touch screen
Good understanding of English language
Knowledge of basic shapes and colours
When will I receive my child’s assessment results?
Straight away! Once your child has completed the TALi app, you will be able to view their results within the app. To gain access, you will be asked to solve a simple equation to verify that you’re an adult. You will also receive a PDF version of your child’s personalised attention report via email.
How do I progress from the TALi app to TRAIN?
Once your child has completed TALi, you will be given the option to purchase TRAIN – an evidence-based, digital therapy for training your child’s attention skills.
TRAIN costs ₹1,500 (limited time price) per child, which gives you access to the five-week training program and weekly progress reports delivered via email.
To purchase the TRAIN upgrade, log in to the TALi app, select your child and follow the prompts.
